Results of Sorting People Quiz

HEY! I did absolutely horrible on the quiz! I got 9 out of 20 correct. I think this teaches us that we can not just go around judging people by the way they look because we may be completely wrong. I thought the quiz was going to be very easy but the pictures were very bad and I thought I knew them pretty well. But when I saw the results I was completely wrong.

  1. OK, so, if you can't judge (or make determinations about race) based on appearance, what does that tell you about the idea of race? If it's not based on appearance, what is it based on? And what purpose does it serve?

  2. If I can't judge based on appearance, what this tells me about "race" is that it is not important. I think the only purpose it serves is to let people know where you are from. I think it is based on where you are from and what parts of the world your family was made up. Therefore, I do not think race is important and I just noticed that this is seriously the first time in my whole life that I have said "race". haha shows I don't like it.

  3. and you don't ever have to say it again if your want. Or, you can think about it as the positive package of interesting heritage that people may or may not have as part of their sense of personal identity..? There's lots of messiness attached to it, thought isn't there? So I don't blame you if you want to make this the first and last time you say it :)
